Mrs Park's Park
Two years ago, our Headteacher, Mrs Park set us an important challenge to raise funds to refurbish the KS2 playground, which had become unsafe due to tree roots pushing through the astro turf.
Her vision was simple but powerful - a safe, friendly, inspiring space where pupils could play, socialise and relax between lessons. It was a dream that the school itself could not afford; even four years ago, the cost was estimated at £45,000.
In June 2025, our school community received devastating news:
Mrs Park was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), leading her to step away from her teaching career. The outpouring of love and support for her and her family has been nothing short of extraordinary.
We are committed to honouring her vision.
We will build the playground that she dreamt of and dedicate it to her.
Mrs Park has kindly agreed to help design the new space, and we will work alongside her every step of the way to ensure that it becomes the joyful, welcoming haven she imagined for our children.
We knew that raising the funds would be challenging - but not as challenging as the battle that Mrs Park is bravely facing right now.
This event is our way of coming together as a community to show her what she means to us, to honour her decades of dedication, and to create a lasting legacy for generations of Hartburn pupils.
Let's do this for her
Let's build something beautiful, meaningful, and lasting: a tribute to a truly remarkable lady
